HMR (under the umbrella of Atlas Enterprises) got its start in the late 1960s, designing and engineering heavy transport equipment including custom dollies. Their products serve a number of industries including structural movers, heavy haulers, large construction and large product manufacturers. One of HMR’s most notable projects was constructing a bridge to aid in the move of the historic Egloff home in Mason City after it was damaged in the floods of 2008.
HMR received a $150,000 DEMO Fund grant from the IEDA in 2011, which helped them increase marketing effort to expand into new markets. More recent projects, which expanded the company’s scope to a national level, include custom work for Duke Energy in South Carolina and stage movement project for the Cheyenne Frontier Day in Wyoming.
